For the first time during the activities of RCST Estonia, a charity concert "Christmas Expectation" was organized on December 3rd in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Tallinn, where well-known Estonian musicians Tõnu Raadik, Eero Sommer and Peeter Kaljumäe performed. Traditional Christmas music and Tõnu Raadik's original composition were performed.
From the sale of concert tickets, we wanted to help those elderly people who have reached the end of their lives in today's world. People who have sunk into oblivion and ended up in a nursing home somewhere along their life path.
When organizing the concert, it was my wish that initially we name only the county where the nursing home is located, which the concert is organized to support, and I will reveal the exact name of the nursing home only in the church at the end of the concert, so that the recipient of the donation will have a real Christmas surprise.
The recipient of the donation was the small Vigala Nursing Home in Raplamaa, which was founded in 1998 and where at the moment there are 34 persons under care.
On the morning of Christmas Eve, we drove to Vigala with the (church) organist Evi Vaher to hand over our gifts to the nursing home. In order to share Christmas joy even more, we sang Christmas carols together with the elderly people and nursing home staff. The Christmas Gospel was read and a small speech relevant to the day was given.
